At this year's Illinois School Nutrition Association (ILSNA) Winter Conference, Y-Pulse research was presented during the session titled, Understanding Tomorrow’s Tastemakers Today. The session explored the dining influences and preferences of today’s K-12 students, whether they’re eating at home, at the mall or in the school cafeteria. Y-Pulse collects perceptions about food, nutrition and marketing from kids, young adults and parents, and its research findings offer school operators insightful data that can help drive menu magic. This session also featured examples of cafeteria innovations from forward-thinking school districts that have already anticipated today’s top trends—and are looking ahead to the next new thing. District Directors and Supervisors left this session with fresh ideas, fascinating findings and plenty of food for thought.
